Appointments can only be made by calling 01334 476840 after 08:30am.
When making an appointment you can choose to consult with the Doctor or Nurse of your choice. You will be asked by a member of the administration team for a little information about the reason for your appointment. This is so they can identify the best source of help for you. The information is entirely confidential. Read our Who’s who guide to help you to work out who to see.
Due to current restrictions it is not currently possible to request a face to face appointment however a telephone or video consultation will be arranged for you in the first instance. Telephone and video appointments are 10 minutes long and appointments are available between 08:30am and 17:00pm, Monday to Friday. The availability of routine GP telephone appointments is currently within 5 working days, although this may be longer if the GP you wish to consult with is away from the Practice. If the Doctor or Nurse you wish to consult with is not available then you can choose to make a telephone appointment with another member of the Practice team. If you feel it is medically important that you are attended to more quickly, then please explain this and we will either give you an appropriate telephone appointment, or we will arrange for a clinician to call you back, who will then assess the urgency of your problem – See Triage for more information.
As our waiting areas are subject to social distancing restrictions and seating is therefore limited, if you are asked to attend for a face to face appointment at the surgery, we ask that you are punctual but without attending earlier than your given appointment time. We do our best to run to time although sometimes delays are unavoidable due to emergency presentations or complex issues. If you are late or miss your appointment altogether you will be asked to reschedule for another time.
Please attend your appointment on your own wherever possible or if you have been accompanied, your companion should wait in their car. Please be aware that the car parking at St Andrews Community Hospital is restricted. We advise, if possible, that you use public transport, walk or cycle. If bringing your car please leave yourself plenty of time to find a space. Please do NOT report to either of the Pipeland desks but check-in for your appointment by using one of the Pipeland self-check in desks on the right hand side as you enter the hospital, which will tell you which of the two waiting areas you should wait in (North or South). To access the South waiting area please walk along the corridor BEHIND the Practice reception desks rather than in front of it.
The clinician who will be seeing you will be wearing scrubs and PPE including a face mask. You should also wear a face covering on entering the building and whilst attending your appointment. Please view this short video for a summary of this information.
If for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment please let us know in advance, with as much notice as possible, so that we can offer the appointment to another patient.
