Out-of-Hours Care

The Out-of-Hours Service is an Emergency Service run by Fife Primary Care Trust.

If you require medical assistance out with normal surgery hours of 8.00am & 6.00pm Mon-Fri, at any time over the weekend, on Public Holidays or during staff training sessions, call  NHS24 on 111.  A Nurse Adviser will assess your call and advise you on what to do next.

You may simply be given advice on managing your symptoms but if it is thought that you need to see a GP or Nurse, arrangements will be made for you to be seen at the nearest Out-of-Hours centre; this will usually be at St Andrews Hospital.  If it is medically necessary, a home visit may be arranged and a doctor will come to your house.  If your symptoms are thought to represent an emergency, NHS24 may organise to send an ambulance to take you to hospital.

All calls to NHS24 are confidential.  To provide consistent care, relevant information about your contact with NHS24 is passed to us as soon as the Practice next opens.
